Dyeing wool with local plants

This collaborative workshop is perfect for nature loving knitters, who want to learn how to dye their own wool. We’ll experiment with several local wild plants, such as acorn, eucalyptus, french broom, pine cones and lichen. You will learn to pretreat (mordant) the yarn, prepare the dye-bath from plants and the actual process of dyeing. You will go home with a ton of confidence, formulas and samples, dyeing tips and notes to help you to dye on your own. The all-inclusive price for a 5-hour workshop is 110 dollars. Group size is 4-8 people.
